Okay...to start with, I ran to Home Depot (they are also available at Lowe's) and bought this 22 compartment storage cabinet...that's the actual name of the chest, uh, I mean cabinet. This helps when you are actually looking for it online. They knew exactly what I was looking for, however, when I went into the store and asked them "Where can I find the little organizer thingies with drawers that people use to store tools..." LMBO...

I also bought a can of red spray paint (glossy). Then I rushed home and got started because the can mentions that it's best to paint before temps reach 90+ degress, which is usually by 10 am in Texas!
I've always been leery of spraying painting because I wasn't sure if I'd get even coverage or have problems with the paint running. I did have a small issue, I tried to spray it while holding it at first, which didn't work too well. The task was much easier after I sat it down and sprayed. I did get a little runny area on one side. But I will chalk that up to experience...But it does bother my OCD a bit...
During my newfound love affair with Pinterest, I've found that many teachers have picked up on this little trend. So I was even able to find some ready-made labels on a teacher blog that I found! I'm always happy to find work that has already been made for me!! When I first started teaching eight years ago, a wise mentor gave me this little tip: "Why reinvent the wheel? Teachers steal each others ideas!!!" If you knew me at all, you should be able to picture the look that I gave her. (But if you are reading my blog, I'm sure none of you...if there is anyone... :/ know me at all!) I gave her this disgusted look as if to say: "Me!!! Steal another teacher's work!!!" Needless to say, I spent alot of time my first couple of years reinventing the wheel. Then one day I got smart. That little tip came back to the forefront of my mind. Just let me say, it has saved me tons of time over the years!!! Why would they post it for all to see, if they didn't want it copied???? BUT!!! I digress...
2 DAYS LATER...
So, I've been working on this toolbox for the past 3 days. Click here to read my rant about that. It is finally done!! Here is the finished product! I think it turned out pretty good, in spite of the few flaws that it has. I proud of my handy work!
